A veterinary medicine factory in Herat Industrial Park has announced that it produces 60,000 serums daily and distributes its products to 34 provinces across the country. Officials at the center stated that the factory was established with an investment of over three million dollars and now plays a significant role in meeting part of the domestic demand.
Mohammad Reza Alami, the head of this pharmaceutical factory, said that more than 40 types of veterinary medicines and solutions are produced here according to quality standards. He added that the factory’s products are available nationwide and fulfill a portion of the domestic market needs.
Alami further mentioned that efforts to increase production capacity are ongoing to boost the share of domestic products in the market and reduce dependence on imports.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Naser Amin, the head of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines, stated that the ban on importing certain Pakistani medicines has provided an opportunity for the growth of pharmaceutical factories in this province. He emphasized that supporting domestic production can strengthen the drug industry and create job opportunities in Herat.
