Afghan Acting Higher Education Minister Says Afghanistan Rejects Orders from Any Party

Neda Mohammad Nadeem, acting Minister of Higher Education for the Taliban administration, has stated that Afghanistan is an independent country and does not accept ‘orders’ from any party. He made these remarks at the first meeting of the Afghanistan-Russia Joint Economic and Trade Commission in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.
During the meeting, he called on the Russian Federation to cooperate with Afghanistan in the fields of economy, trade, and agriculture. According to him, expanding economic relations could help improve the country’s trade situation and agricultural production.
The joint economic and trade commission meeting between Afghanistan and Russia is taking place as the Taliban administration, over the past three years, has sought to strengthen its economic ties with regional countries. However, the lack of international legitimacy and political restrictions continue to overshadow the level and quality of these collaborations.
Experts believe that developing economic relations requires political stability, transparency in administrative structures, and building confidence among foreign partners—issues that Afghanistan currently faces serious challenges with.
