Distribution of 1,025 Residential Plots Begins for Returning Migrants in Logar Province

The distribution process of 1,025 residential plots to families of returning migrants has started in Logar province. This residential township is built on approximately 900 jeribs of land and is intended to accommodate more than one thousand families.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mawlawi Abdulsalam Hanafi, Administrative Deputy of the Office of the Prime Minister; Mawlawi Najibullah Haqqani, Minister of Urban Development and Housing; and Qari Salahuddin Ayubi, Governor of Logar. Officials stated that each family will receive five buses of land in this township, with the design taking into account the requirements of a standard residential area.

At the ceremony, Mawlawi Abdulsalam Hanafi said that concurrent with his visit to Logar, the distribution of residential plots to more than one thousand returning migrant families has begun. He added that similar distributions are planned soon for returning migrants in other provinces.

According to him, over the past three years, more than five million migrant families have returned to the country, and relevant authorities have provided various services to them. However, many of the returning families still face serious challenges regarding shelter, employment, and access to basic services—issues that require transparent and accountable planning by the Taliban administration.

The Administrative Deputy of the Office of the Prime Minister also criticized the unjust treatment of migrants by a neighboring country, describing it as contrary to principles, though he did not provide further details.

Based on the information provided, the township is located near the previous migrant settlement in the center of the province. Additionally, a plan to construct another residential township for returning migrants in the Ashnpur area of central Logar is underway.
