Taliban Ministry Holds Coordination Meeting on Drinking Water and Health Services in Rural Areas

The Taliban’s Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development announced that a coordination meeting was held with representatives of organizations concerning drinking water and health services in rural areas. During the meeting, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, the minister of the ministry, emphasized the importance of providing water, especially in camps for returning migrants.
According to him, ensuring access to drinking water for residents, particularly families who have returned to the country, is one of the main responsibilities of this ministry. He added that, based on directives from the Taliban leadership, the ministry has been tasked with facilitating access to drinking water in migrant camps.
The Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development also referred to what he called “comprehensive security,” stating that now travel across the country and close inspection of the people’s issues is possible, and priority should be given to remote areas in implementing standard projects.
However, while expanding water supply and health services is emphasized, many residents in several provinces continue to complain about the lack of safe drinking water and basic services. Experts believe that fulfilling these commitments requires transparency, effective coordination with organizations, and continuous monitoring of project implementation.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the organizations also presented their proposals and requests to improve the execution of projects.
