Pakistani and Qatari Prime Ministers Discuss Regional Peace in Phone Call

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that he held a phone conversation with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussing current regional developments and diplomatic efforts to strengthen peace and stability.
Shehbaz Sharif, in a message posted on the social media platform X, wrote that both sides emphasized their mutual commitment to supporting ongoing initiatives aimed at consolidating lasting peace and expanding constructive dialogue at the regional level. He described the call as important and spoke of continued close cooperation between Islamabad and Doha.
This consultation was publicized as General Asim Munir, Chief of the Pakistan Army, also declared that his country’s mediating efforts between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue. Although no detailed information about this mediation has been released, Pakistani officials have previously stressed their active role in reducing regional tensions.
The Pakistani Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, for what he called “the continued support of Pakistan’s sincere efforts to promote peace through dialogue and diplomacy.” He further expressed hope that the Emir of Qatar would visit Pakistan in the near future.
In recent years, Qatar has played a mediating role in several regional issues, while Pakistan is striving to establish its position as an influential actor in the region’s diplomatic developments.
