Rise in Urban Theft in Kabul: Three Burglaries Reported in Darulaman in One Week

Nazar Mohammad Motmaen, former head of the National Olympic Committee under the Taliban administration, has reported an increase in theft cases in Kabul city. In a message posted on social media, he announced that in the past week alone, three residential homes were burglarized in a single alley of the Darulaman area.
According to him, these incidents have raised concerns among local residents, who are demanding serious attention from security agencies. Darulaman is known as an important and relatively prominent area located in the southwest part of Kabul.
While the Taliban administration consistently emphasizes ensuring nationwide security, reports of rising urban theft in some parts of Kabul continue to emerge. Citizens say that the lack of regular patrols and the slow response to complaints have created conditions that allow such incidents to recur.
The surge in urban theft in the capital has raised questions about the effectiveness of the Taliban administration’s security measures, with calls for security officials to provide clear explanations and take concrete actions.
