Wall Collapse in Maidan Wardak Kills Two Women

Security officials in Maidan Wardak province have reported that two women lost their lives following the collapse of a wall in Jaghatu district. The incident occurred on Wednesday in the village of Dahna.
According to a statement released by the provincial police command, the wall collapsed after recent heavy rains, trapping the two women under the rubble. Officials confirmed that both women died at the scene.
Jaghatu district is considered one of the central areas of Maidan Wardak province, where many homes are built using clay and other non-resilient materials, making them vulnerable to severe rainfall.
Last week, a similar incident in the same district resulted in the deaths of two children after a rain-induced wall collapse. Local residents have consistently expressed concerns about the lack of resilient infrastructure and neglect regarding building conditions in these areas.
