Nearly 700 Families in Panjshir Gain Access to Clean Drinking Water

Three water supply networks in the Rokha district of Panjshir province have been completed and operational, providing nearly 700 families with access to safe drinking water. On Tuesday, April 21st, Bakhtar News Agency, affiliated with the Taliban administration, announced the completion and activation of these projects.

According to sources, these networks were constructed at a cost of approximately 200,000 US dollars by the Aga Khan Foundation. The projects aim to supply safe drinking water to residents of the mentioned areas.

Access to safe drinking water remains a fundamental need in many parts of Afghanistan, especially in mountainous districts where inhabitants face shortages of sustainable water resources.

Meanwhile, about a week ago, seven other water supply networks funded by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) were inaugurated in Kapisa province. According to reports, these networks were implemented in the Kohband, Second Hessa-e-Kohistan, and Nijrab districts, covering over 1,000 families.
