Taliban Interior Minister Calls for Gentle Treatment of the Public

The acting interior minister of the Taliban administration, Sirajuddin Haqqani, has called on security forces to carry out orders issued by the leaders of the Islamic Emirate in a soft and kind manner.
He stressed the need to maintain good relations and treat people properly, adding that brotherly conduct and mutual respect should be at the heart of the work of security agencies.
The remarks come as concerns persist over violent confrontations and social restrictions under Taliban rule, while society calls for improvements in human rights and respect for civil liberties.
The Taliban administration has on several occasions tried to project a positive image before the public, but field reports indicate that strict behavior continues.
