Afghanistan Under-15 Football Team Travels to Azerbaijan for Global Festival
Members of Afghanistan’s under-15 national football team left the country on Thursday for Azerbaijan to take part in the 2026 Global Football Festival, the Afghanistan Football Federation said in a post on its official Facebook page.
The festival has been launched for the first time by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), with the aim of creating opportunities for international competition for young teams and nurturing emerging football talent.
The event is scheduled to begin on October 22 and will include representatives from about 190 FIFA member associations. The matches will continue until October 30.
The holding of such events, despite the difficult sporting conditions in Afghanistan, is seen as a valuable opportunity for young players from the country to gain international experience.
