Taliban’s Acting Envoy in Malaysia Meets Iraqi Ambassador

Naqibullah Ahmadi, the head of the Taliban’s acting embassy in Malaysia, met with Adnan Mahalla Al-Ma’ajoun, Iraq’s ambassador to Malaysia. In the meeting, which the Afghan embassy in Malaysia said was held, the two sides discussed the historical relations between Afghanistan and Iraq, bilateral cooperation and new opportunities in Afghanistan. Both sides stressed the importance of strengthening ties and expanding cooperation between the two countries. The meeting comes as the Taliban administration seeks regional and international support to legitimise itself, while concerns over stability and human rights in Afghanistan remain.
