Putin Says Russia-China Ties Are Expanding Dynamically

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, conveyed greetings and best wishes to President Xi Jinping and stressed that relations between Russia and China are expanding in a dynamic and successful manner. He added that the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which is being held in China, will provide an opportunity for him to meet and speak again with the Chinese president.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the leaders of the two countries are in constant contact and that Moscow expects an important discussion between Putin and Xi Jinping at the APEC summit in Shenzhen. The Russian president is due to attend the summit and has described meeting the Chinese leader as an opportunity to further strengthen bilateral ties.
