Da Afghanistan Breshna chief meets international energy firms at Dubai expo

Molawi Abdulhaq Hamkar, chief executive of Da Afghanistan Breshna, met with representatives of several international companies active in the power sector during his attendance at the International Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition in Dubai. In these meetings, he stressed the importance of expanding technical and commercial cooperation and attracting foreign investment in Afghanistan’s electricity industry.
Despite these efforts, restrictions and poor conditions under the Taliban administration in the energy and infrastructure sectors remain the main obstacle to real progress in this area in Afghanistan. Foreign investors have shown little interest in large-scale involvement until the security and administrative situation improves.
Da Afghanistan Breshna, as the body responsible for electricity distribution in Afghanistan, has in recent years faced numerous problems, including a shortage of resources, power cuts and inadequate infrastructure. Efforts to attract investment and expand cooperation at such exhibitions reflect the urgent need to strengthen this sector.
The annual Dubai international exhibition serves as a venue for technology exchange and investment attraction in the fields of water, energy and the environment. However, without support and transparent management, such meetings cannot create lasting change in Afghanistan.
