Three Tonnes of Smuggled Pakistani Medicines Seized in Herat

Herat’s Department of Public Health said in a statement that, following inspections and visits to 64 wholesale shops and pharmaceutical import companies in the province, 3.2 tonnes of smuggled Pakistani medicines were seized. The move was carried out to prevent the entry of illegal medicines into Herat’s markets. The confiscation of this amount of medicine can help protect public health from low-quality products. Herat health officials have repeatedly warned about the smuggling of substandard medicines and stressed the need for strict monitoring of pharmaceutical markets.
