Afghan envoy warns against forced return of Afghan asylum seekers

Nasir Ahmad Andisha, Afghanistan’s permanent representative in Geneva, has expressed concern over the forced return of Afghan asylum seekers at the 77th session of the Executive Committee of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

He said the forced expulsion of asylum seekers, at a time when Afghanistan is facing a humanitarian crisis and widespread human rights violations, would worsen the current situation.

Andisha called for increased humanitarian aid and greater international support for Afghan asylum seekers and returnees.
