Taliban Defence Ministry Delegation Heads to Beijing for Security Forum

The Taliban administration said a delegation from its Defence Ministry, led by Lutfullah Hakimi, the ministry’s inspector general, has departed for Beijing, the capital of China, to take part in the 13th Xiangshan International Forum.
In a statement on Saturday, 21 September, the Taliban Defence Ministry said Hakimi will speak at the conference on behalf of the administration.
According to the Taliban administration, the trip is being made in the framework of participating in one of China’s important security and defence meetings, where officials and representatives from different countries discuss security issues and defence cooperation.
The Xiangshan International Forum is regarded as one of China’s well-known security meetings and is held annually with the participation of military and political officials from a number of countries.
