Grape Harvest in Parwan Rises 5%

Parwan’s Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock has said grape production in the province has increased by 5% this solar year 1405 compared with last year, and is expected to reach 63,750 metric tonnes.
According to the department, grape orchards in Parwan have so far been cultivated on 6,375 hectares of land. Officials said the main reasons for the increase in production were the use of modern orchard management methods, the prevention of pests and diseases, and proper spraying.
Parwan is one of Afghanistan’s central provinces, where some residents earn their living through agriculture and horticulture. Grapes are considered one of the province’s important horticultural products.
