Hanif Announces Expansion of Housing Projects in Afghanistan

Abdul Salam Hanif, the administrative deputy to the Taliban administration’s prime minister, said that as housing projects expand across Afghanistan, new projects will also be launched in the future.

He made the remarks on Thursday at the foundation-laying ceremony for the “Peace Housing Project.” According to him, the project has been designed on 1,300 jeribs of land.

According to Taliban administration officials, a significant part of the work in the first phase of the project for a 70-unit building has been completed and six blocks have also been constructed. In addition, the foundation stone has been laid for Block B4, which includes 250 apartments.

The Taliban administration has not released further details about when the project will be completed, how much it will cost, or how people will be able to access the housing units. In Afghanistan, a jerib is a commonly used unit for measuring land.
