Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Say They Targeted Two US Air Bases in Jordan
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that two American air bases, “King Hussein” and “Al-Azraq,” in Jordan were targeted in a missile and drone attack. The force claimed that technical and repair infrastructure and fighter jet deployment sites at the two bases were hit, leaving heavy damage.
In its second statement, the IRGC public relations office said the attack was carried out by the Guard’s aerospace force in response to what it called “the air aggression of the American-Zionist enemy against Larak Island.” According to the force, the operation was carried out with ballistic missiles and drones.
The Revolutionary Guards also warned that, according to the force, any further fire or action would face “more forceful responses.” The force also claimed that pressure and attacks would not weaken the Islamic Republic of Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Jordan is located alongside Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Palestine and Israel, and because of its geographical position, it plays an important role in regional security developments. The military bases referred to by the Guards in the statement were identified as being on Jordanian soil.
