Russia Says Strikes on Ukraine’s Supply Infrastructure Continue
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its attacks on supply, fuel and energy infrastructure in Kyiv and several other Ukrainian regions are continuing, targeting facilities used by Ukrainian forces.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the strikes on the night of August 29 focused on logistics hubs, ports, supply routes and fuel and energy facilities in Kyiv, its outskirts and various regions of Ukraine. The ministry claimed Russian armed forces carried out wide-ranging air strikes overnight.
In its statement, the Russian Defence Ministry said a logistics centre in the Kyiv region, with warehouses it said were used to store parts for ‘Flamingo’ missiles, was hit. Parking areas for fuel trucks and unloading sites at the port of Izmail in the Odesa region were also among the declared targets.
The ministry also said it had struck a warehouse of parts for FP1 and FP2 drones, a logistics centre and cargo terminals receiving military shipments from Western countries. It added that support centres for Ukrainian forces and storage facilities at the port of Mykolaiv on the Black Sea were also on the list of targets.
Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine, and the ports of Izmail and Mykolaiv are among the country’s important transport and logistics hubs in the south. During the Russia-Ukraine war, port, energy and supply-route infrastructure has repeatedly been targeted by both sides.
