Erdogan Accuses Israel of Seeking to Destabilise the Region

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Israel of trying to destabilise the entire region, saying the process is being pursued through provocative actions.

According to Al Mayadeen, Erdogan said Israel is “addicted to warmongering” and is seeking to undermine regional stability. He added that the Israeli cabinet is pursuing the destabilisation of the whole region and has started this process in neighbouring countries.

Amid growing criticism from Turkish officials of Israel, Ankara had earlier asked Interpol to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Turkey’s Justice Minister, Akın Gürlek, said the country has requested that Interpol issue a “red notice” for Netanyahu because of ongoing legal proceedings against him on charges of genocide. In Interpol’s system, a red notice is a request to locate and temporarily detain a wanted person.
