Taliban Calls for Closer Border Monitoring in Takhar
The Taliban administration said a delegation from its Ministry of Borders, Ethnicities and Tribes, during a visit to Takhar province, stressed closer monitoring of border issues and timely action to address local needs and challenges.
On Wednesday, the Taliban-run Ministry of Borders, Ethnicities and Tribes wrote on X that Mullah Inayatullah Shuja, deputy head of border inspection at the ministry, led a joint delegation to Dasht-e Qala district and met provincial officials, the head of the Takhar Border, Ethnicities and Tribes Department, representatives of the Border Commission and several other officials.
According to the ministry, the meeting reviewed the situation in border areas, issues related to the border, and ways to further improve security and administrative affairs. The Taliban administration also said Shuja listened to reports from border officials and consulted with them about the situation in the area.
Based on the ministry’s statement, the deputy head of border inspection also made recommendations after these meetings to improve the management of border affairs and coordination among relevant departments. Dasht-e Qala district is located in the north of Takhar province, near the border line with Tajikistan.
