Freedom Front Says It Carried Out 21 Operations Against Taliban in Past Month

Dawood Naji, head of the Political Committee of the Afghanistan Freedom Front, has said the group carried out 21 military operations in eight Afghan provinces during the month of Asad.

According to him, the operations were carried out in Badakhshan, Baghlan, Kunduz, Panjshir, Nuristan, Kabul, Faryab and Nangarhar provinces.

Naji published the information in a report on the social media platform X, claiming the front’s first operation took place on 1 Asad in the Zibak district of Badakhshan province. He said 21 members of the Taliban administration were killed and 37 others wounded in that operation.

He also claimed that in another operation on 29 Asad in the same district, six members of the Taliban administration were killed and 10 others wounded. Naji added that on the same day, in a separate operation in Baghlan province, two Taliban fighters were killed and one was wounded.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front is among the armed groups opposed to the Taliban administration and in recent months has repeatedly claimed responsibility for attacks on its positions in several provinces. These claims come as parts of Badakhshan and Baghlan in northern and northeastern Afghanistan have been areas of interest for groups opposed to the Taliban administration.
