Construction Begins on Afghanistan-Uzbekistan Friendship Orchard in Faryab
The Press Office of the Taliban’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock has announced the commencement of the construction of the “Afghanistan-Uzbekistan Friendship Orchard” in Khan Charbagh District of Faryab Province.
According to the ministry, the orchard will be established on 300 jeribs of emirate-owned land in the Chakman area, and its implementation will proceed based on a previous contract with the company “Yeshil Andkhoy.”
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mawlawi Mohammad Zarif, Deputy Head of Agriculture of Faryab Province, Mawlawi Saifullah Sharifi, Khan Charbagh District Governor, and Sardar Aka, Head of Horticulture from Uzbekistan, along with several other officials.
Taliban officials claim that executing this project can help develop horticulture, strengthen joint cooperation between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, and create job opportunities in the region. Khan Charbagh District is considered an agricultural area in Faryab Province, where a large portion of its residents sustain their livelihoods through farming and livestock raising.
