Taliban Investment Committee Approves Tractor Assembly Project in Afghanistan

The inter-ministerial investment committee of the Taliban administration has approved a plan for the gradual assembly and production of tractors and agricultural machinery within the country after reviewing the proposal.

This decision was made during the committee’s regular meeting held on the 6th of Asad 1405 (July 28, 2026) at the Marble Palace. Representatives from the private sector were also present at the meeting to discuss the implementation of the project.

According to officials, the plan was approved following its presentation and technical evaluation. No details have been released regarding the project’s start date or the amount of investment involved.

Additionally, during the same meeting, a plan to construct a cafeteria and shops on land belonging to the Taliban Ministry of Public Health in the center of Jowzjan province, in the city of Sheberghan, was reviewed and approved.

The inter-ministerial investment committee is an entity responsible for assessing domestic and private investment projects from administrative and legal perspectives and deciding on their approval or rejection.
