Taliban Ministry Urges Analysts to Highlight Its ‘Achievements’ in Media

The Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture has announced that in a recent meeting with a number of political analysts, emphasis was placed on producing and broadcasting programs supporting what it calls the “achievements” of its administration.

According to the ministry’s newsletter, Mohajer Farahi, Deputy of Publications Affairs, asked analysts who have been granted permission by the Taliban administration to appear in the media to prepare programs regarding the performance of this administration and present them to the public.

During the meeting, analysts were also requested to provide information about what was described as the “true face of the Pakistani military regime.”

The meeting took place on Tuesday, July 28, under the chairmanship of Mohajer Farahi. Over the past more than four years, the Taliban administration has severely restricted media activities in the country by imposing extensive limitations on journalists and media outlets. Furthermore, the participation of analysts in the media has been conditioned on obtaining licenses from the relevant Taliban authorities.
