Taliban Accused of Detaining and Pressuring Badakhshan Youths After Yaftal Payan Clashes

The Homeland Corps Front has claimed that the Taliban administration, after losing control of Yaftal Payan district in Badakhshan province, detained dozens of civilian youths on charges of cooperating with this front and subjected them to pressure.

In a statement issued on Sunday, 28 Saratan, the front said that the arrested individuals have no connection to it and that forced confessions were extracted from them, according to the front. The Homeland Corps Front described this move as the Taliban administration’s reaction to the fall of Yaftal Payan.

The statement added that following this event, retaliatory actions against civilian residents in Badakhshan have increased. The front emphasized that innocent civilians have been targeted for pressure.

The Homeland Corps Front has called on human rights organizations and war monitoring bodies to investigate and follow up on the Taliban administration’s treatment of civilians. The front also claimed that some video footage shows scenes of inhumane treatment and forced confessions from civilians.

The Taliban administration has not yet responded to these allegations.
