Construction of 27 Million Afghani Road Begins in Mazar-i-Sharif

Local officials in Balkh have announced the commencement of a new road construction project in Mazar-i-Sharif costing 27 million afghanis. The road will be fundamentally built from the Ring Highway to Block Two of Nor Khoda. According to the officials, the road will feature two lanes with a width of 14 meters. The construction is expected to be completed and operational within the next five months. Taliban authorities in Balkh stated that the aim of this project is to improve urban traffic flow and reduce transportation problems in the area. However, city residents have consistently emphasized the need for standard adherence in infrastructure projects, transparency in public fund usage, and strict supervision over the quality of construction work.
