Pakistan Army Reports Killing 117 Militants in Balochistan Operations
The Pakistan Army has announced that since the launch of Operation ‘Shaban’ and other joint security operations from July 5, at least 117 militants have been killed in the Balochistan province. According to a statement released on Monday, July 13, an additional 13 militants were killed in air and ground operations on the same day.
The statement emphasized that operations against armed groups are ongoing, with security forces actively clearing areas across Balochistan.
Amid these developments, reports from Balochistan indicate that residents of the Ziarat area have staged protests in response to recent unrest. Protesters condemned the attack on a police checkpoint in the Kach Mangi area and urged security authorities to implement more serious measures to ensure safety in the region.
Earlier, on July 10, Pakistani security officials stated that over five days of continuous operations in Balochistan, 75 militants had been killed. According to them, these operations began following an attack on a police post in the Mangi area.
The Pakistan Army also reported that since July 4, militants have carried out three coordinated attacks across Balochistan, killing 42 people—most of whom were security personnel. One such attack targeted a police checkpoint in Mangi, resulting in the deaths of nine security forces members, an event which led to intensified security operations in the province.
