Three Arrested for Motorcycle Theft in Herat, Taliban Authorities Recover 16 Stolen Bikes

The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of three individuals accused of stealing six motorcycles in the city of Herat. Simultaneously, authorities have uncovered and confiscated an additional 10 stolen motorcycles.

According to a statement published on the ministry’s official Twitter account, these individuals were arrested on Friday during a targeted operation conducted by personnel from the seventh security district of Herat. Sources indicated that the suspects are charged with involvement in the theft of six motorcycles.

The Taliban Ministry of Interior added that the arrested suspects have confessed to their crimes during preliminary investigations. Their cases have been referred to judicial and legal institutions after completion of initial procedures.

Information provided reveals that after stealing the motorcycles, the suspects altered ownership documents and tampered with chassis numbers before reselling them—a tactic that complicates the process of identifying stolen property.

Continuing these operations, security forces from the seventh district also discovered and seized 10 more stolen motorcycles from various areas under their jurisdiction.

Officials stated that the recovered motorcycles will be returned to their rightful owners after verification of ownership and legal documentation evaluation.
