Afghanistan Invites Indian Investors to ‘Bharat Buildcon’ Exhibition

Sayed Karim Hashemi, Director General of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, led an official delegation to participate in the international building exhibition ‘Bharat Buildcon’ in India. He called on foreign investors to invest in Afghanistan’s mining and construction industries. The exhibition, attended by representatives from over 80 countries, is considered one of India’s major construction industry events.

At the event, agricultural, industrial, and construction products from various countries were showcased in more than 350 booths. Officials from the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce stated that their goal in attending the exhibition was to introduce the country’s economic capacities and attract new trade collaborations.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, Mr. Hashemi met with several traders, investors, and private sector officials from India and other countries. According to him, Afghanistan has significant potential in mining and construction raw materials, providing opportunities for extraction, production, and development of the construction industries in the country.

In addition, the head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, accompanied by Noor Ahmad Noor, Afghanistan’s Ambassador to India, and Sayed Imad Hashemi, Afghanistan’s health attaché, visited booths of major international companies and discussed ways to expand economic cooperation.

During his visit, he also toured a large traditional spice manufacturing company and emphasized the development of trade relations in the export and import of medicinal plants between Afghanistan and India. According to him, with the rising demand for construction materials, Afghanistan could become an important market for foreign investors, especially Indian companies.
