Research Seminar on Afghanistan and Central Asia Highlights Regional Stability and Economic Cooperation

The second part of the joint research seminar between Afghanistan and Central Asian centers focused on a specialized discussion titled “Regional Stability, Connectivity, and Economic Cooperation.” This seminar was initiated by the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the ministry’s newsletter, the discussion was conducted in the form of an expert panel and included researchers and specialists from strategic study centers in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Participants in their speeches emphasized expanding cooperation between Afghanistan and Central Asian countries. Key topics included regional stability, coastal connectivity, trade, energy, transit, investment, and economic collaboration.

The newsletter stated that such specialized meetings are expected to help improve coordination and strengthen practical cooperation between Afghanistan and regional countries. However, while emphasizing the development of regional cooperation, Afghanistan continues to face extensive political and economic challenges, and the realization of these commitments will require clear mechanisms and sustained engagement with the region’s countries.
