Taliban Leader Emphasizes Strict Implementation of Directives at Kandahar Cabinet Meeting

A meeting of the Taliban administration’s Council of Ministers, led by Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, was held in Kandahar city, during which he emphasized the full implementation of directives issued by the administration. According to him, officials are obligated to seriously execute these orders and explain them to the public.

According to the Taliban leader’s statements, the administration’s officials must not only implement the orders but also adhere to them personally and communicate their importance to the citizens. He stressed that officials bear direct responsibility for enforcing the issued directives.

Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada also remarked that “each era passes,” and officials must strive to leave behind principles and a record acceptable to future generations.

This comes amid ongoing criticisms from segments of Afghan society concerning the methods of issuing and enforcing Taliban directives, particularly in social spheres and citizens’ rights. There have been calls for transparency, public participation, and the consideration of fundamental rights in decision-making processes. Nonetheless, Taliban Council of Ministers meetings are usually held without the presence of independent media or the release of complete details about resolutions.
