Taliban Governor of Panjshir Claims Full Coordination Between People and Authorities

Hafiz Muhammad Agha Hakim, the Taliban-appointed governor of Panjshir, stated that there is “complete coordination” between the residents of the province and the relevant Taliban authorities, with timely attention given to the problems and demands of the inhabitants.
In an interview with a domestic media outlet, he also claimed that since the Taliban regained control, thousands of young people in Panjshir have been provided with employment opportunities in civil and military departments, with ongoing efforts to expand job opportunities. However, no specific statistics or details have been provided regarding the exact number of individuals employed or the nature of these jobs.
The Panjshir governor further asserted that the gap between the people and the Taliban institutions has been eliminated, and necessary measures are being taken to address the residents’ issues. This comes despite Panjshir having been considered one of the most sensitive provinces in security and political terms in recent years, with reports of dissatisfaction among some residents and restrictions in the region.
In another part of his remarks, Mr. Hakim claimed that Panjshir now enjoys “complete security” like other parts of the country and has attracted more tourists in recent years. He cited natural beauty, security conditions, and existing facilities as factors contributing to increased tourism in the province.
Panjshir, due to its mountainous location and natural attractions, has always been an important destination for domestic tourism. However, the continuation of stability, civil liberties, and free access to economic opportunities remain issues on which residents expect practical and transparent attention from the Taliban administration.
