Taliban Spokesperson Says Qatar Played a ‘Very Positive’ Role in Ending Afghanistan Occupation

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban administration, stated that relations between Afghanistan and Qatar are at a very good level, and Doha played a “very positive” role in the process of ending the occupation of Afghanistan.
In an interview with Ariana News, he added that cooperation between the two countries is deep, and the relations between the peoples of Afghanistan and Qatar are based on brotherly ties.
Qatar has hosted the Taliban’s political office in recent years and was the venue for talks that led to the Doha Agreement, which paved the way for the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan. However, after the Taliban regained control over Afghanistan, the Taliban administration has yet to be recognized by many countries, leaving Afghanistan’s political status on the international stage uncertain.
While Taliban officials speak about expanding relations with certain countries, Afghan citizens continue to face significant economic challenges and social restrictions; a situation that raises questions about the practical impact of these relations on the lives of the country’s residents.
