Trump Halts Beirut Attacks, Confirms Ongoing Talks with Iran After Netanyahu Call

Donald Trump, President of the United States, announced that after a phone call with Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of the Israeli regime, the plan to attack the southern Beirut suburb and the headquarters of Lebanon’s Hezbollah has been halted. Trump said Netanyahu assured him that no forces would be dispatched to Beirut and those already en route were called back.
Trump claimed in a message on the Truth Social network that high-ranking representatives have also contacted Hezbollah and both sides agreed to a “complete ceasefire.” According to him, Israel will not attack Hezbollah and Hezbollah will not retaliate. He also revealed that negotiations with Iran are continuing and progressing at a faster pace.
Earlier, Israeli Channel 12 reported that the phone conversation between Trump and Netanyahu occurred amid escalating tensions and threats to attack the southern suburbs of Beirut. The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, quoting a knowledgeable source, stated that a large-scale attack on the southern outskirts of Beirut was under consideration but was postponed at the last moment due to U.S. intervention.
Al Mayadeen, quoting Channel 12, also reported that this phone call delayed the final decision on the attack while efforts for a new ceasefire were underway.
Meanwhile, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi emphasized in a social media message that the ceasefire between Iran and the United States includes all fronts, including Lebanon, and any violation in one front will be considered a breach of the overall ceasefire. He held the United States and Israel responsible for the potential consequences of any violation.
Additionally, Major General Pilot Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Central Headquarters of Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya (PBUH), warned that if the bombing threats of Dahieh and Beirut were carried out, residents of the northern parts and military settlements in the occupied territories would be warned to leave the area to avoid harm.
The President of Iran has also described repeated ceasefire violations in Lebanon, the continued displacement of Lebanese citizens, and U.S. political and military support for Israeli regime actions as concerning. He has called on the international community to play a more effective role in preventing further escalation of tensions.
