Four Dead, One Injured in Nuristan Traffic Accident

Local officials in Nuristan report that a traffic accident in Parun, the provincial capital, resulted in four deaths and one injury. Faridun Samim, spokesperson for the Nuristan governor under the Taliban administration, stated that the incident occurred last night when a Toyota vehicle veered off the road near the ‘Jangal Post’ area and fell into a river. He added that search operations to recover the victims’ bodies have begun, and efforts to complete the investigation are ongoing. Local authorities noted that the victims were residents of Farah province who had traveled to Nuristan for leisure and sightseeing. Nuristan is a mountainous province in eastern Afghanistan known for its winding roads and difficult geographical conditions, which contribute to frequent similar traffic incidents each year.
