Professional Theft Gang Members Arrested in Herat

The Herat Police Command announced the arrest of members of a professional theft gang that had been conducting organized robberies in several districts of the province. According to officials, these individuals mainly targeted cash belonging to money exchangers, traders, and citizens in the commercial areas of the city and fled the scene after committing the theft.

Sayed Masoud Hosseini, spokesperson for the Herat Police Command, stated that the gang was involved in multiple cases of cash robbery. He added that following a series of investigative and intelligence operations, forces from the Fifth Security District were able to arrest members of this network in separate and professional operations conducted across different parts of the city.

Security officials have not provided further details regarding the exact number of those arrested or the amount of recovered property but emphasized that investigations are ongoing in this matter.
