Severe Rainfall and Flash Flood Warning Issued for 18 Provinces

The National Meteorological Department has issued a warning for Tuesday, May 11, predicting the possibility of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, relatively strong winds, and flash floods in 18 provinces.

According to the department’s forecast, this weather condition will affect Kabul and the provinces of Badakhshan, Takhar, Kunduz, Samangan, Baghlan, Panjshir, Parwan, Kapisa, Laghman, Nuristan, Nangarhar, Kunar, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Paktia, Bamyan, and Khost.

The meteorological department has estimated rainfall amounts ranging from 10 to 30 millimeters in various areas. There is also a likelihood of flash floods occurring in some mountainous regions and valleys.

In recent years, severe rainfall and sudden flash floods have caused financial damages and loss of life in several provinces. Experts consistently urge residents in vulnerable areas to take meteorological warnings seriously and implement precautionary measures.
