The Samangan Police Command has announced that Taliban security forces have arrested two individuals in Aibak city, the provincial capital, on charges of fraud and theft. According to a statement from the command, these individuals were receiving money from citizens by using counterfeit gold and similar items.

The statement noted that these individuals had previously committed cash thefts in other provinces. Following a targeted operation, security forces identified and apprehended the two suspects.

Officials reported that two fake gold bracelets and 50,000 Afghanis of stolen money were seized from the detainees. During initial investigations, the suspects confessed to the crimes.

However, no further details have been released regarding the identities of the arrested individuals or the operations of any possible network they might be involved in. Experts consistently emphasize that to combat such crimes, responsible agencies must not only conduct isolated interventions but also implement broader preventive measures and public awareness campaigns across provinces.
