Russia Condemns Attack on Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, Warns of Unpredictable Consequences

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, declared that Moscow firmly condemns the recent attack on the Bushehr nuclear power plant and is closely monitoring the developments with growing concern. She emphasized that attacks on nuclear infrastructure could lead to widespread and unpredictable consequences.

Zakharova stated that, according to her, “the aggressors continue to target Iran’s nuclear infrastructure without any hesitation.” These remarks come as Bushehr remains Iran’s only operational nuclear power plant, located on the shores of the Persian Gulf and holds significant energy importance.

The Russian diplomat also alleged that the United States and Israel have lost their credibility in the field of nuclear non-proliferation and adherence to nuclear safety. She did not provide further details regarding evidence supporting this claim.

The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that it is still possible to prevent the situation from worsening, but this is conditional on the immediate cessation of attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities. So far, Iranian officials have not issued any new response to these remarks.
