Taliban Destroys 8 Drug Factories in Ghor Province During 20-Day Operation

The Taliban administration reported that during a 20-day operation in Pasaband district of Ghor province, eight drug production factories were destroyed. In this operation, 27 individuals were also arrested, and large quantities of drugs, along with 150 motorcycles and several vehicles and equipment, were seized. Despite these showy measures, the problem of drug trafficking in Ghor province and across Afghanistan remains persistent, with its negative impact continuing on security and the lives of the people. The Taliban administration claims that this operation is a step toward combating the drug crisis; however, the lack of comprehensive and effective programs has so far failed to eradicate this problem.
