Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, has described the attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran as illegal and stressed the necessity of establishing a ceasefire and restoring calm in the region. Erdogan made these remarks during a meeting of the Central Committee of the Justice and Development Party in Ankara. He added that Turkey considers itself a partner in the pain and suffering of the Iranian people and expressed deep sorrow over the situation of civilians, especially children.

According to him, Turkey has intensified its diplomatic contacts at all levels to pave the way for a ceasefire and the return of stability. Erdogan emphasized that his country does not want to witness the expansion of war and conflict in the region during the month of Ramadan.
