Taliban Finance Ministry Extends Vehicle Document Exemption for 10 More Months

The Taliban’s Ministry of Finance announced that, based on the Prime Minister’s order, the deadline for the remaining exemptions on tax, transportation, municipality, and traffic fees for vehicles has been extended for an additional 10 months.
The ministry stated in a Tuesday press release that the aim of this decision is to assist vehicle owners and provide sufficient time for completing documents and fulfilling the legal procedures for their vehicles.
According to the ministry’s statement, vehicles with documents pending since the end of 2015 (1394 in the Iranian calendar) are eligible for a 90% exemption. Vehicles from the start of 2016 to the end of 2018 are granted an 80% exemption, while those from the start of 2019 to the end of 2022 are entitled to a 70% exemption.
Based on this decision, vehicle owners can complete their remaining documentation and legal requirements within the specified period without paying the aforementioned fees.
