Taliban Ministry of Interior Distributes New Vehicles to Traffic Police to Boost Urban Traffic Management

The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior has announced the distribution of new vehicles to personnel of the General Directorate of Traffic Police. According to officials from the ministry, this move aims to strengthen traffic order and improve service delivery in cities.

Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, stated in a news release that with these vehicles at their disposal, enforcement of traffic laws in urban areas will become more effective, and police presence at incidents and emergencies will be ensured more swiftly.

He added that access to operational vehicles plays a crucial role for traffic police in managing traffic flow, responding to incidents, and reducing urban disorder — a demand consistently raised by citizens from responsible authorities.

However, urban affairs experts emphasize that sustainable improvement of traffic conditions requires, in addition to resources, uniform law enforcement, transparency in police operations, and serious attention to public education and awareness campaigns.
