Taliban Announce Retaliatory Attacks on Pakistani Border Posts Along Durand Line

The 201 Khalid bin Walid Corps affiliated with the Taliban administration in eastern Afghanistan reported last night an offensive operation against Pakistani border posts along the Durand Line. According to the group, the attacks took place on the night of Saturday, October 10, in response to Pakistani airstrikes on Kabul and Paktika.

An official statement from the Taliban Ministry of Defense confirmed that the operation was conducted in the provinces of Kunar, Nangarhar, Paktia, and several other border areas, continuing until midnight. In the statement, the Taliban took responsibility for retaliating against what they described as Pakistan’s “repeated violations” of Afghan airspace.

Local sources in the border areas have also reported heavy clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistani border guards. However, exact casualty figures for both sides have not yet been confirmed, and the Pakistani military has not issued an official response to these developments.

The Taliban administration had previously warned that it would not remain silent in the face of Pakistani airstrikes. Political analysts believe that the rising tensions along the Durand Line are complicating the regional security situation and causing significant concern among local residents.

Due to the lack of transparent information from both parties, the veracity of the claims remains unverifiable. Nevertheless, the ongoing tensions at the border indicate increasing instability and the absence of an effective diplomatic framework to resolve disputes between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
