Afghan Ministry of Industry Holds Talks with Kabul Traders to Control Prices

The Taliban-run Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced that Nooruddin Azizi met with the leadership of sectoral chambers and representatives of various trades in Kabul city to assess the market situation and discuss ways to control prices.

According to the ministry, the meeting emphasized preventing hoarding and banning price gouging. Traders were urged to continuously cooperate in supplying raw materials at reasonable prices.

Azizi also referred to the Taliban administration’s directives aimed at curbing price hikes and highlighted the importance of coordination between government institutions and traders to stabilize the market.

However, many Kabul residents have repeatedly complained about rising prices and the lack of effective market oversight. Critics argue that without transparent and accountable mechanisms, such meetings will have limited practical impact on the daily lives of people.
