Russia Offers to Mediate to Ease Tensions Between Tehran and Washington

Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, announced that Moscow is ready to act as a mediator to reduce tensions and resolve disputes between Tehran and Washington, should both parties desire it. He emphasized that Russia will use diplomatic tools to prevent the escalation of the crisis.

Referring to the current situation in the Gulf region, Lavrov noted signs that the ongoing crisis could escalate into a broader conflict. He stated that Russia is prepared, besides mediation, to provide other necessary assistance to contain the tensions.
