Taliban Claims Attack on Pakistani Security Post Near Durand Line in Kunar

The Taliban administration claims that a Pakistani security post in the Dangam district of Kunar province, near the Durand Line, was targeted and destroyed by the group’s fighters. This claim was made on Tuesday, April 11, by Hamdullah Fetrat, the deputy spokesperson of the Taliban administration, on X (formerly Twitter).
According to Fetrat, the post was located in an area close to the Durand border line, from which Pakistani forces allegedly fired at civilians. The Taliban administration has not provided further details regarding possible casualties or the extent of the damage.
So far, Pakistani officials have not issued an official response, and independent sources have not verified the incident. The Durand Line has long been a flashpoint of tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan, with several clashes reported along it in recent years.
The rise in such tensions comes amid repeated complaints from local residents about insecurity and the vulnerability of civilians in border areas. Continued conflicts in these regions could further worsen the security and living conditions of local populations, underscoring the need for responsible management and efforts to prevent escalation of the crisis.
