Four Primary Health Centers Opened in Khost with UN Funding

Four centers providing primary health services have been inaugurated in Khost province, supported financially by the United Nations Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan. These centers are located in the districts of Mandozai, Zazi Maidan, Tani, and Sabari, with the aim of delivering basic health services to the residents of these areas.
Bakhter News Agency, which operates under the control of the Taliban administration, reported on Monday, April 10, that the construction cost of these centers was 27 million Afghanis. According to the report, each center has the capacity to serve approximately 4,500 families.
The report states that the primary focus of these centers is maternal and child healthcare, a sector that faces severe shortages of facilities and services in many parts of Afghanistan.
Many remote areas of the country suffer from a lack of sufficient infrastructure and health centers, resulting in limited access to regular medical services. Under these conditions, establishing primary health centers can address some of the immediate health needs of residents. However, experts emphasize that sustainable responses to healthcare needs require broader planning and continuous investment nationwide.
